Who works at Dudley Lodge?

There are many staff working at Dudley Lodge and each hold various qualifications. Each family is assigned a Team Manager and link-workers who will work specifically with you and your family. There is a notice board displaying staff member's photographs and names in the hallway.

How will I know how my assessment is going?

Daily recordings are made each time staff have any contact with you and are recorded in your personal file. Staff working with you will complete daily feedback to assist you with your parenting skills. You will also receive a progress summary every 7-10 days containing details of your areas of progress, development and targets. A Review Meeting is also held every 4 weeks.

Are there any centre rules?

The Centre rules are listed in the residents guide, and also explained in more detail in the full guide which can be found in your flat.

What work will you be completing with me?

Work is tailored to meet your family's personal needs, this can include assistance with child development, budgeting, routines, hygiene, protection, anger management, play and stimulation, guidance and boundaries, relationships, safety, and nutrition etc.

What do I need to bring with me?

Dudley Lodge supply the majority of necessities needed for your flat including a television, microwave, iron, ironing board, vacuum, bed linen etc. We also supply a cot for your baby complete with a new mattress and if required can loan you a moses basket and stand, cot linen, steriliser, top and tail bowl and a baby bath.

There is a small food hamper and basic cleaning materials supplied, this will last you until you are able to visit the shops. You need to supply your own towels, tea towel, toiletries, and smaller items for baby e.g. bottles, toiletries, nappies and milk etc.

You are welcome to bring a few personal items to make your flat feel more like home.

Do I have to pay anything whilst living at Dudley Lodge?

All families pay a small contribution towards basic bills e.g. electricity, heating and water. The fee varies between £12 and £18 and will depend on personal circumstances and which flat you are living in.

Will you look after my child if I need to go out?

Childcare can be provided for appointments etc, but this must be planned in advance.

Can I have visitors whilst living at Dudley Lodge?

Yes, you can have visitors, but these must be approved by Social Care and have the appropriate CRB check. You will be asked for the names of your visitors in your Placement Plan meeting.

Can I visit other residents?

Visiting times for visiting other resident families are from 10am to 9pm.

What is there to do in Coventry?

Coventry has lots of things to do and see, when you move into Dudley Lodge ask to have a look at the community resource file this has lots of information of places to go, and useful telephone numbers.

What can I do if I am not happy with anything to do with my assessment?

If at any time you are unhappy with any aspect of your assessment, you are able to meet with your allocated Team/Case Manager or the Director within 24 hours, in addition there is a complaints procedure in place - a copy of this can be found in the flat, and residents guide.
