Dudley Lodge expands support with the opening of Saxon House, Wolverhampton

We are thrilled to announce the official opening of Saxon House, our newest residential family assessment centre, took place on 2nd February 2024 in Wolverhampton. This marks a significant milestone for Dudley Lodge as we expand our capacity to provide invaluable support to families not only in the West Midlands but beyond.

After searching for the perfect property we found Saxon House, a large, handsome, red bricked building nestled in the heart of Wolverhampton. As soon as we stepped through the front doors we were overwhelmed at how it felt such a good fit for the services we provide.

We undertook an extensive renovation to enable us to utilise the space in a way that suited our needs and Saxon House has been transformed into a centre that now boasts five elegant, self-contained flats and a relaxing garden creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for families.

At Dudley Lodge, our focus is to keep families together when it is safe and in the best interest of the child. We understand that each family is unique, and as such, our assessments are tailored to adapt to the individual needs of every parent and child.

What also sets us apart is that every one of our residential flats at all of our centres is self-contained, with its own bathroom, kitchen, and living areas. This realistic setup reflects living in the community and allows us to conduct assessments that mirror real-life, ensuring that we provide comprehensive and high-quality evaluations while offering families a safe, comfortable and homely experience.

Dudley Lodge has a long history dating back to 1895 and evolving into a Night Shelter Emergency Refuge facility in 1911. We become known as Dudley Lodge in 1946 and welcomed our first family as residents back in 1984. Our second centre, Bonner House, Birmingham, opened in 2010 and we’re proud to extend our services in Wolverhampton with the opening of Saxon House.

At the heart of Saxon House lies an environment of care and compassion. Our friendly and highly trained staff understand the challenges families face and offer support, advice, and education necessary to strengthen their abilities and create a nurturing environment that fosters growth and positive change.

We are delighted to welcome families to Saxon House where they will experience the care and dedication we put into every aspect of our services. The opening of Saxon House represents not just an expansion for Dudley Lodge but an extension of our commitment to keeping families together in a safe and supportive environment where they can thrive.
