A guide to low-cost sun creams and the labels to look out for to ensure top protection
Sun cream is essential when you go on holiday – or on those rare occasions that the sun decides to make an appearance in the UK. With so many brands, SPF’s and advisories it can be hard to know which is the best to purchase to give your children the best protection.
Before you head to the shops to remember these few tips:
Don’t think you always need to buy new. Check the POA on your old sun cream, most are good for 12 months.
Don’t be stuck in a ‘brand hype’ it can be easy to go straight for the well-known brands but the cheaper options are often just as safe with the same protection levels.
Make sure you have enough so you don’t have to buy more once on holiday – souvenir shops tend to bump up the prices
