Residential Assessments

As part of the Residential Assessment, families will temporarily move into the centre. The time they will stay for an assessment varies, although generally assessments last anywhere between 4-12 weeks.

However, an assessment may end earlier if at any stage it is not in the best interests of the child for the placement to continue.

If this is the case, discussions with the Social Worker and Children’s Guardian would take place, and a final decision would be jointly made.

Assessment Work Plans and Supervision

Families are given a weekly work plan during their assessment. The work plan shows groups and sessions they

need to attend, and explains what time staff will spend with them.

The level of supervision and time spent with families varies, we can provide any level of supervision and monitoring, including 24-hour surveillance of a child for high risk cases.
